Day 30

Whew, the end of the challenge is here. 30 days actually went by very quickly. It is funny, when I started, I had different ideas about the kinds of things I might create, and I did some of those, but there are other ideas I did not attempt, and still others I had not thought of that ended up popping up.

I approached Day 30 thinking I should do something really great to close out the challenge - take my time, really delve into something. So what did I do on my 30th day, I applied a design of mustard to my husband's sandwich bread for lunch, I arranged new Stella & Dot products for a photo for Facebook, and I worked on digitally restoring an old family photo. I thought about creating something else (more in line with what I have been creating all along) late last night, but I realized it didn't need to be a big deal. I was already including creativity through out my day, just maybe not in the way I expected or anticipated.

Now that the 30 Day challenge is over, what do I plan to do next? This question has been in the back of my mind. The intention of this project was to reconnect to my own creativity - specifically through my visual art as that is something I am trying to re-cultivate in my life. Along the way, I have also realized that I never lost my creativity in general - it is almost like I can't help but be creative, I just don't always recognize it.

My next projects include choosing nursery colors, painting a crib and a dresser, working in the garden with flowers and veggies, and yes, continuing to entertain myself with interesting mustard designs on the inside of my hubby's sandwiches. These are creativity in action, too.

But I still want to keep the momentum of creating art moving as well. On the advice of some friends, I am going to give inspiration time to bubble up. I hope to experiment and create something each week. As I continue to create, I will continue to post here.

Thank you for following me for the last 30 days and support my process. If you have any ideas for what I can add into my creativity and art mix over the next few months, please leave me a comment with your suggestions.
